Sharing Our Pantry Expansion Progress with You!

Nov 25, 2025 | Monument Crisis Center

We are excited to share our progress just 1.5 months since we broke ground on our 2,000-square-foot Pantry Expansion. The walls of our side yard came down, the ground was prepared for foundation, and now the walls are taking form. Watch this amazing construction timelapse video to see the progress yourself! Viewing the daily progress is inspiring for our staff. Here are just a few of the things they are looking forward to when the project is complete!

“With the warehouse doubling in size to store more food and items our clients need, it will open up so many opportunities for us to host new drives. It will be great for our kitchen, wellness room, and other spaces to be open for programming all year round.” -Tuyen Mai, Intake Coordinator/Special Projects

“I’m mainly looking forward to being able to serve more people. We’ll make better use of the Center by freeing up more space to accept more donations and safely store more food.” -Francisco Rios, Warehouse and Community Services

“We’ll get back to normal usage of multiple areas of the building for programming instead of storage. I’m thinking of the endless possibilities this additional space will bring…for food and other donations, volunteer opportunities, internships, and improvements in our output.” -Karla Tinajero Salazar, Operations Director

“As we are trying to find space to store all the holiday box donations coming in from our generous donors right now, I’m thinking about next year. We’ll be able to accept holiday boxes as early as October and we’ll be so organized for the holiday rush in the future. It may sound like a small thing, but it will make a tremendous impact for our clients, volunteers, and staff.” -Daniel Scherer, Executive Director

Thank you to all the donors who have contributed to our Pantry Expansion Capital Campaign. There is still time to join the $150,000 dollar-for-dollar matching campaign that means every gift will go twice as far to help feed our neighbors in the future. Visit www.monumentcrisiscenter.org/donate before December 31, 2025 for your gift to be matched.

Reminder: Monument Crisis Center remains open for clients, volunteers, and donors during construction. Come visit us for a personal view of our growth!
