Hilda GiménezHilda

Hilda Gimenez-Paglia was born in San Miguel de Tucuman, in the Republic of Argentina on August 8, 1929. Tucuman is the smallest state in the country of Argentina “yet it is the most beautiful” says Hilda.  They call Tucuman the “Garden of the Republic” because of its most beautiful parks, gardens, flowers and mountains.

Hilda is third of six siblings. There are four boys and two women, and her parents were Cledorio and Gabriela. There is now two of the children living, Alberto and Hilda. Hilda studied in Tucuman and married at 19 years of age to Angel Paglia who had emigrated from Italy; her husband passed away in 1969 and left her and two children, Aldo and Luis. Aldo lives in Argentina with three children. Luis lives here in the U.S with two children with whom she lived with for seven years until she moved to Concord.  The reason Hilda moved to Concord was because she is a part of Oakland’s Hispanic Presbyterian Church and she was commissioned to help begin a Hispanic Presbyterian Church in Concord. Hilda loves getting involved in her community; she is very involved in the community’s Senior Action Team, Monument Community Partnership, and Monument Community Safety. Hilda Volunteers helping the seniors in her community. Hilda is also involved with the Monument Crisis Center helping in any way she can; she does these works because she loves giving a helping hand to those who are in need. Hilda is thankful to the Monument Crisis Center for giving her this opportunity to display her art and she is thankful to Martin Segobia who helped get inspired to work on her other passions which is art.
